Camera Reference Designs to Accelerate Your Time to Market

eInfochips has vast experience and in-depth expertise in designing and delivering camera solutions across a wide range of Qualcomm© processors, to cater to applications such as Connected cameras, Video analytics, Security, and Surveillance. Our reference designs for smart camera solutions are ready-to-use, cost-effective, versatile, and an excellent choice for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to kick-start prototype development of their next-generation cameras. We also provide a software framework that allows you to configure your underlying camera sensors.

Enhanced Support Services

Our reference designs include cameras with 360° field of view (FoV), multiple high-resolution concurrent streaming and capture capabilities, and stereoscopic vision. Our enhanced support services include:

  1. Enabling RAW, Bayer, or YUV sensors from any camera sensor vendors
  2. Integration of customer software packages with all necessary camera firmware components
  3. Camera firmware upgrades on-field
  4. ONVIF compliance
  5. Enabling Time of Flight (ToF) sensors
  6. HDR enabling and improvement
  7. Camera sensor tuning for higher image quality
    1. Lens and color shading compensation
    2. Auto exposure, autofocus, and auto white balance tuning
 

Reference Design includes

Hardware:

  1. A full system with the SoM mounted on the carrier, and interfaced with a Mezzanine card that brings out all necessary interfaces.
  2. WLAN and BT Antennae connected to U.FL connectors
  3. Cables like USB
  4. Power adapter

Optional Hardware:

  1. A camera daughter board, eInfochips Aikri Part # EIC-DB-CAM-OVS, allows you to connect different off-the-shelf third-party camera modules. This hardware will work out-of-the-box with our development kits and currently support the following off-the-shelf camera modules.
    1. SONY IMX334
      1. Manufacturer # Framos, FSM-IMX334C-01C-V1A + FSA-FT3/A-V1A + 27629F-16MAS-CM (Max. resolution: 8.3 MP / 3840 x 2160 pixels)
    2. OmniVision OV5640 (works with OV7251 in combo-PHY configuration)
      1. Manufacturer # Leopard Imaging, Part # LI-OV5640-MIPI-AF V2.1 (Max. resolution: 5 MP / 2592 x 1944 pixels) – 2-lane CSI configuration supported.

Software:

  1. A complete Board Support Package (BSP) that supports all on-board connectors and interfaces in either Linux or Android (platform dependent)

 

Reusable Camera Framework (RCF)

The Reusable Camera Framework (RCF) is a hardware platform-agnostic solution that allows you to configure key parameters of the captured video stream or images. This software framework will work on our camera reference designs seamlessly, enabling you to kick-start your development efforts and accelerate time-to-market.
